Applicant interest in obstetrics-and-gynecology residency training rebounded sharply in the 2026 match cycle, with applications up 11% over last year and an even larger surge — 14% — among medical schools in the Northeast and West Coast, according to data released by ERAS.

The rebound reverses a two-year decline that observers had attributed to the legal landscape after the Dobbs decision.
