Nurse practitioner full-practice authority moves through three statehouses

Bills that would grant nurse practitioners full-practice authority advanced this week in three statehouses — Texas, Pennsylvania and Indiana — bringing the count of states actively considering such legislation to nine, the highest in any single legislative session.

The Texas bill cleared the House Committee on Public Health on Wednesday by a 9–4 vote.
