ER hold times in Atlanta climbed 8% in the first quarter

Emergency-department hold times — the interval between an admission decision and a patient leaving the ED for an inpatient bed — rose an average of 8% across all major Atlanta-area hospitals in Q1, according to data compiled by the Georgia Hospital Association and reviewed by Scrubswire.

The Georgia Department of Community Health, which would normally publish state-level rollups, has not commented and has not released its quarterly briefing on time.
