Texas Children’s Hospital is piloting in-home infusion for select pediatric patients, an approach long established for adult oncology but rarely deployed in pediatrics. The pilot has run since September and currently includes 41 patients across infectious disease, immunology, and rheumatology.

The system reports a per-visit cost saving of approximately $640 against the equivalent infusion clinic visit, with no measurable change in adverse events.
