An analysis of the most recent publicly filed Form 990s for the 187 largest nonprofit U.S. health systems shows median CEO total compensation up 4.2% over the prior cycle, with the 90th-percentile package — including bonus, deferred compensation, and other reportable benefits — climbing past $11 million for the first time.

The data reflect fiscal year 2024 filings; FY 2025 990s have not yet posted in sufficient numbers for analysis.
